In December 2001, XPanium Electronics GmbH was founded. Purpose of the enterprise was and is to develop with a flexible team of highly specified technicians a terminal that leaves no desires open to mobile applications and fulfils the risen requirements of the market needs at the same time. It was our highest goal that the customer does not need to attach any modules, EVERYTHING must be always integrated. Any docking or plug-in solutions were avoided. 

Because of a judicial conflict with the Intel Corporation. Apparently, Intel was so impressed by our company and our product, that they felt their own brand „Pentium“ endangered by our original name „XPanium Electronics GmbH“, we had to change our companies name to: XPANEON TECHNOLOGIES GmbH. 

 

We found our original name very suitable and would have liked to keep hold of it. However, we decided not to respond legally because it would not have been economically sensible. We rather spend the saved court and lawyer fees for the advancement of our products since our main focus is on offering our customers the best possible equipment and services.

While the end 20th Century was dominated by the development and the structure of mobile communication, it is recently more important to offer products which fulfil various requirements. Mobile phone, PDA's, payment-terminals, transponder, navigation systems - each of these functionalities becomes in particular more important in Business-to-Business ever. This trend is intensified by new techniques and transfer options, as the large discussion around Bluetooth, WLAN, RFID, GSM, GPRS or UMTS proves. 

 

Here the concept of the XPANEON TECHNOLOGIES GmbH sets. With the CuteSAFE®, developed by us, there is an offer at the market, which unites innumerable functions in equipment for the first time. As the standard-features are just as contained such as data adminstration and a mobile Premium telephone, SmartCard and magnetic card readers, a Highspeed thermal printer as well as most diverse usual interfaces such as infrared, USB or PCMCIA in the basis version. In addition, the user can also get Bluetooth and an optional navigation system. 

 

This combination is unique in the world. In addition, functions can be put on modular basis at ANYTIME. The CuteSAFE® can be also equipped with a bar code scanner, a transponder, a finger print module, a module for UMTS technology as well as Wireless LAN.
